sTLR2 Early Access Investigator Program

Accelerating Early Sepsis & Innate Immune Kinetics Research

An exclusive research collaboration opportunity for Critical Care PIs, Emergency Medicine Clinical Leads, and Translational Inflammation Researchers.

The IMIWN Early Access Investigator Program provides selected clinical research units with prioritised access to the sTLR2 RAPID assay - the world’s first 10-minute rapid lateral flow test for human soluble Toll-like receptor 2.

Designed to support high-impact observational cohort studies, trial stratification, and longitudinal bio-sampling, this program empowers investigators to evaluate the earliest wave of innate immune activation without the constraints of centralised lab processing.

Why sTLR2? A Shift in Ultra-Early Inflammation Kinetics

Standard acute phase reactants such as C-reactive protein (CRP) and Procalcitonin (PCT) suffer from delayed biological induction. By the time these proteins peak, critical therapeutic windows in sepsis and severe inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) may have passed.

Soluble TLR2 functions as a rapid innate immune decoy receptor. Cleaved and shed into circulation within minutes of pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP) or danger-associated molecular pattern (DAMP) engagement, sTLR2 offers a new window into acute host-response dynamics:

  • Ultra-Fast Onset: Detectable changes occur within 30 to 60 minutes of cellular activation - hours ahead of conventional biomarkers
  • Potential Rapid Rule-Out Utility: sTLR2 shows high negative predictive value for early sepsis triage during equivocal first-hours ICU presentation
  • Low Sample Volume: Semi-quantitative results in 10 minutes from a 20 µL capillary blood, plasma, or serum sample. No specialised hardware required

What Selected Research Units Receive

The Early Access Program is structured to eliminate operational friction for investigator-initiated trials (IITs), observational emergency department cohorts, and clinical trial biomarker sub-studies:

Dedicated Research Kit Allocations

Selected centres receive subsidised, batch-matched allocations of sTLR2 RAPID test devices with extended shelf-life stability for multi-centre trial consistency.

Additional Validation Support

Access co-testing support using our anti-human sTLR2 ELISA kits and monoclonal antibody panels for exact quantitative cross-validation.

Technical & Protocol Advisory

Direct collaboration with our scientific team.

Applicant Eligibility & Target Studies

To preserve program rigor and scientific impact, access is granted via competitive application. We welcome proposals from academic health science centres, university medical departments, and clinical trial networks focusing on:

Emergency Triage & Triage Optimisation: Validating early hyper-inflammation rule-out protocols in acute presentation

ICU & Post-Surgical Cohorts: Longitudinal sTLR2 profiling in high-risk abdominal, cardiac, or major trauma surgical patients

Pharmacodynamic (PD) Endpoint Studies: Assessing real-time immune suppression response in Phase I - III anti-inflammatory or immunomodulatory drug trials

Pediatric & Neonatal Sepsis: Micro-volume (20 µL) sampling applications where traditional blood volume draws are restricted

Submit an Expression of Interest

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis by our Clinical Advisory Board. Priority is given to projects with clear cohort definitions and realistic publication timelines. Although the sTLR2 RAPID test is UKCA certified and registered with MHRA, all test kits provided according to this program are supplied on a strictly research use only (RUO) basis.
